Our Family is Growing, AGAIN!!!!

Or an alternate title: We Adopted!!!! A few weeks ago we set off to the nearby newly renovated animal shelter, "just to look" of course. But, then we found the little critter area. And before we knew it we were signing adoption papers. Yup, just like that! Here we are waiting patiently and on our best behavior for mom and dad to inquire about our new little friend.

Emily is holding up our certificate of adoption! He cost us a whole $5!

Matthew is just a little excited!

And just like that our family grew. Here's our newest addition.
He still doesn't have a name, we just call him 'Turtle'. Any suggestions? The kids are enjoying him and he's enjoying the yard. Sometimes he disappears for days, possibly hiding from Ewok. Ewok still hasn't figured out just what exactly he is. He likes to walk around with him in his mouth and move him from spot to spot.
Sorry for the teaser :) I had you there for a second, didn't I??? Hehe

And Crawling Too!

For the last week Ben has been crawling everywhere. I think Ewok is happy to have someone his size to hang out with :)

Matthew's Mommy

Apparently, Matthew has another mommy that I don't know about! His preschool teacher had him do a few Mother's Day activities in class to surprise mommy with. She asked him a few questions about his mommy and recorded his answers. Does Miguel have a girlfriend I don't know about cuz this doesn't describe me?! His answers are in red. MY MOM HAS black HAIR, AND blue EYES. SHE IS 15 YEARS OLD. HER FAVORITE FOOD IS rice. FOR FUN MY MOM LIKES TO go to work. I LOVE MY MOM BECAUSE she loves me. LOVE, matthew. Ummm, OKAY! Wish I could have seen the teacher's face when he told her that I was 15!!!! Haha.

Okay, it's bragging time! While cleaning the kitchen I found a piece of paper under the dinner table. Assuming it was just another one of the kids craft messes I was about to throw it away until I read the heading:

Don't laugh too hard!

You're gonna enjoy this post!
My Mother's Day--
First off, I'd like to say Happy Belated Mother's day to every mommy out there, including all of my mommy bloggie friends. Lynn, thank you for the E-card!
I had to work on Mother's Day. Sad, I know. But, I took the Saturday off to have my own Mother's Day with the kids. It was nice. Daddy went shooting in the morning with a friend, but after he got home I took the older three girls ice skating.
I've been wanting to go ice skating for a long time but I just never have the time! Elizabeth complained the whole way there but by the time we were done she was the one begging to come back again! It was so much fun. Sarah, our cousin, came along too. You're gonna love this video. Near the end of the 2nd hour there, I was getting brave and decided I was going to teach myself how to twirl and spin like those fancy skaters in the middle of the ice. I was showing off and Sarah made sure to have her camera phone out - just in case! Go ahead, watch it. And get a good laugh- AT MY EXPENSE! : ) After ice skating we went to lunch with daddy and the rest of the crew. What better way to end the day than a quick shopping trip at the mall. Brianna, Ben and I tagged along with Sarah on her search of a dress for an upcoming wedding. While in the mall, I found a few cute dresses myself. I had Ben in the baby backpack and I left the stroller in the car so I had nowhere to put him to try them on. That is until.... I looked around... and got creative. I apologize for the sideways video. Keep in mind, I had tested the hooks before using them. He was having an absolute ball jumping around like he was. Sarah made me do it. JK. I guess after 6 babies, I'm a little bit more daring in my parenting. Ben was giggling and mommy was laughing harder than I've laughed in a long time. Be Advised: No babies were harmed in the making of this video!

Almost Crawling

Ben now does the wounded army soldier crawl. Pretty soon it will be a REAL crawl. My baby is growing too fast :(

And yes, I'm a bad, bad, bad mommy. I let my baby play with guns!

A Hidden Talent No More

Our ten year wedding anniversary is fast approaching. To document this BIG year, I wanted a little photoshoot of the two of us. But being on the budget that we're on, I was reluctant to spend money on it. So, what's a poor mother of six children to do???

Funny you should ask. I did what any budget minded mother with six kids would do. I gathered up the rugrats, handed the camera to the oldest and directed the younger ones to drag the porch rockers to the middle of the street, of course!!!

And by the looks of the photos, I think we've found one of Brianna's hidden talents!

We played with the editig a little bit to get a different feeling from each one.

Good Job, Bri. I am quite pleased and the best part is.

 It was FREE!!!
