The Results Are In!

Okay, it's official, the results are in (of the poll- that is). I had you there for a second, didn't I? Ha, you thought I was gonna give you the result of the ultrasound! I'm not giving it up that easy! This is my last child and I want to have a little fun with this- I'm gonna drag this one out as looooong as possible. Just kidding. I won't drag it out too long, check back this week and you just might find the answer. So, for the poll results... 66.7% of you think baby # 6 will be a boy. 28.6% of you all think we will welcome another baby girl, and 4.8% are unsure. We'll see who's right...

Pink or Blue

I've added a gender prediction poll in the upper right hand corner of the blog. Take a guess. What do you think we will welcome come November, another daughter or another son? Can't wait to see your guesses. I should find out the gender very soon and will post as soon as we know!

Baby #6 is...

An Avocado with Toenails!
Here's what's new with Mejia #6...
How your baby's growing: Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.
The top of your uterus is about halfway between your pubic bone and your navel, and the round ligaments that support it are thickening and stretching as it grows. You're probably feeling a whole lot better as you settle into pregnancy, too. Less nausea, fewer mood swings, and "glowing" skin contribute to an overall sense of well-being.
Glowing Skin!!! What glowing skin??? They aren't talking about my skin. There's NO pregnancy glow over here. Since pregnant with this one, I feel like a teenager in high school with lots and lots of ACNE!!!
Soon you'll experience one of the most wonderful moments of pregnancy — feeling your baby move. While some women notice "quickening" as early as 16 weeks, many don't feel their baby move until about 18 weeks or more. (And if this is your first baby, don't be too impatient — you may not be aware of your baby's movements until 20 weeks or so.) The earliest movements may feel like little flutters, gas bubbles, or even like popcorn popping. Over the following weeks they'll grow stronger and you'll be able to feel them much more frequently

Big Bear and Fresh Squeezed Lemonade

Two weeks ago we went up to Nana and Papa's cabin in Big Bear. This time the kids got to try out fishing for the first time...

Can anyone guess what's inside this bottle being held by Matthew?

Well... while on board the boat, Matthew had to go potty. There was no restroom nearby, so....Daddy taught Matthew what to do in a situation as such! When you gotta go, you gotta go! Mommy was secretly excited about this pee pee occasion because this just isn't the thing girls do when they gotta go, it was a nice reminder that I have a little man amongst all these little ladies we're raising! And if you couldn't tell by this pic, he was quite proud of himself too! He ran around the boat chasing the girls with the bottle asking if they wanted some lemonade. The girls were grossed out and running from him as they laughed. If I was a really good mommy, I would have yelled at the kid for doing such a thing... instead- I couldn't stop laughing and snapping away with the camera! What kinda mommy am I?

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun...

The other day the kids were being awfully quiet which made me think they were up to no good. I went in search of them and this is what I found...
It was a Day Spa right there in their bedroom with Megan being the lucky recipient of the services they offered...
This was Megan's first experience with makeup so I had to run to get the camera to document this BIG occasion in a girl's life...
While snapping away I had a vision of the girl's doing the same thing twenty something years from now on Meg's wedding day. I'll have to save these pictures to compare to the wedding day ones later on.
Raise your hand if you want mascara!!!
Hmmm, I wonder if these jewels are real. There's only one way to find out....
Ewww, that didn't taste so good.
Doesn't this girl look like she's enjoying herself. It makes me want to go get my nails done!

Sea World Weekend

Cinco de Mayo weekend we were in San Diego. We took the kids on a quick trip to Sea World, checked into our awesome hotel in Old Town, walked up and down the streets of Old Town and had a nice dinner at a little Mexican restaurant there. Daddy found an amazing parking spot on Fiesta Island and we parked it there to enjoy Sea World's fireworks. Here are some pics of the weekend.

Happy Belated Earth Day!

This year, Brianna participated in something really cool with her school. She is part of the student council and got to have a BIG say on what they were going to do for Earth Day! Brianna came up with the idea of planting a tree, she was also in charge of locating the perfect tree to dedicate to the school. Well, lo and behold, that's where her handy dandy Uncle Rigo comes in. Not every kid has easy access to plants and flowers as this lucky one does. Uncle Rigo (who just happens to run and operate Hydrangea Nursery, a family owned business) was kind enough to dedicate this beauty. Brianna and the other Mejia kids got big props from the principal and vice principal during the tree dedicating ceremony. We were even personally invited to the school during our off track month to be a part of it all!
