1st Grade- Here I Come!

Our lil Emily has been promoted to the big 1st grade. Do you know what that means?! That means she goes to school ALL day! Darn, what am I going to do with myself ALL day?! I'm sure I'll think of something, like maybe napping (yeah, right)! So with the arrival of Ben, I will have 3 kids in school and 3 lil ones at home. Yes, my hands are full, but as I like to say, better full than empty!

Matthew + Cousin Kenzie = Double Trouble

The teacher chose Emily out of all the kids to lead the audience in a flag salute. She couldn't have picked a better kid. Emily was quite the leader! Her voice was loud and proud! And of course, a picture with her Kinder teacher. I'm sure this teacher is looking forward to a little break from this Mejia kid. But no worries, we'll be sending her another one soon.

Brianna also received an award on the same day. I haven't downloaded those pics yet. I'll post them when I do.

Grass Never Tasted So Good

Family Fun Magazine is awesome and never fails to let me down. I'm addicted to it. With every issue, I seem to find some type of craft or activity to do with the kids. This year, we made some really cute Father's Day cupcakes. Since Daddy has such a green thumb, we thought we'd make note of it. The cupcakes were decorated with green grass and lawnmowers on top. Megan had more fun eating the candy toppings than she did the actual cupcake.

Sew What?

Looks like Brianna may be taking after mommy. She's been working on her sewing skills by making Ewok a nice sweater for winter.

Bob Dad the Builder

Daddy seems to always be working on something around here. I'm sure it doesn't help that the 'honeydo' list continues to grow. Here's daddy at his latest project. He's adding a rooftop to provide some much needed shade over the bbq for those long hot days he'll be bbq'ing this summer! He just recently started, this is his progress thus far-

What's in a Name?

I said I'd announce our little guy's name, so without further ado, his name will be....

Benjamin

Benjamin means: "Son of my Right Hand." (I love it) We will call him, Ben. And because you all know how much I LOVE to watch you suffer make you wait, his middle name will be a surprise and will not be announced until he arrives! I will be nice enough to give you a hint though. It's not any name Miguel and I were originally considering going with AND (ok, 2 hints) I promise you, you'll never guess it! Okay, so those aren't good hints, but it sure works to keep you guessing, doesn't it! Remember: Patience is a Virtue! And just for the sake of baby names and meanings, here are our other kids names/meanings: Brianna: High, Noble Elizabeth: God is my Oath Emily: To Strive, Excel, or Rival Matthew: Gift of God Megan: Pearl Hmmm, I wonder if those meanings have any indication of/bearing on their personalities.... What do you think? Oh, and in case you were wondering what middle names we were considering, these are a few we really, really liked: Luke, Ethan, Michael, James

Mommy Marvels at Mini Milestones

Last week I was telling Miguel that I can feel the baby kicking now. I don't think he believed me. This week I am now 20 weeks along and just yesterday while laying down next to daddy, I felt the little one (I'll announce his name in a later post) moving about. Daddy put his hand on me and sure enough, he felt it too. I'm trying to savor every last piece of this pregnancy as well as document everything I can since this will NEVER happen to me again. I hate saying that, makes me want to cry! Anyways, with that said, let it be known that on June 15, 2009, while 20 wks along, daddy felt his 2nd son move for the very first time!

19 Weeks

Your baby's sensory development is exploding! His brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch.
